Jake Benson - Project Manager

Growing up, Jake was always interested in architecture and the way things are built.  When deciding where to go to college, he followed his interests and enrolled at Dunwoody where he earned a degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating.  He initially worked as an estimator for a few years before joining Sheehy in 2008. 

Jake appreciates the challenges of his work as a project manager and the opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable and experienced staff.  “There are so many types of projects that we have completed in so many different markets.   With all of our resources it would be impossible for something to come up that we can’t handle.”

Having worked on many projects at the University of Minnesota, Jake has gained considerable experience remodeling outdated or unused buildings into functional, efficient spaces.   Jake takes pride in knowing his work plays a role in creating effective learning environments for students and productive work spaces for staff. 

Jake lives with his wife in Cottage Grove, where he can often be found working on house projects.  As an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys spending time in nature hunting, fishing, and doing other recreational activities.
