Minneapolis Fifth Precinct Police Station

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Client: City of Minneapolis
Architect: Julie Snow Architects
Size: 30,000 sq. ft.
Year Completed: 1998

The combination of brick, metal panel, and curtain wall systems allow for the police station to have both accessible public spaces and secure operational areas. Designed and built to be enduring and resilient with common, inexpensive materials and finishes such as stained concrete flooring and glass railings, the station is inviting and approachable to the public. Skylights bring natural light into the lower, below grade level of the two story building.
