VA Medical Center Chiller Plant

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Client: Veterans Administration
Year Completed: 2007

This project consisted of general, mechanical and electrical work for a 1,100 ton, water-cooled, centrifugal York chiller and a Marley cooling tower. Concrete foundations and structural steel frame were constructed to support the new cooling tower. The new chiller was interfaced with the existing facility management system for monitoring and control. In addition, a wall was constructed in the Energy Center to provide a barrier between the chillers and boilers. Our use of the premises was limited to a confined area as the existing facility was in operation at all times.
